COMMUNICATIONS |
One single equipment for all network
types: Telsec developed the VisorNET
product based on the hardware platform used by Teldat in its more than 180,000 IP
communication devices sold in the telecommunication industry, which are being
used mainly by large banks and corporations all over the world. Therefore, the VisorNET
equipment, built on top the core of a fully functional IP router, offers a
great level of flexibility on the communications side and is able to work
through almost any kind of IP network: Telephone lines (using an external
modem), ISDN, ADSL, Cable, Frame relay, X.25, etc... This unmatched
performance and flexibility make the VisorNET
product an optimum solution for
system integration projects as well a preferred choice for those projects were
the communication scenario is likely to evolve in the near future (telephone
based installations that will evolve to ADSL).
| Communication Interfaces | |
| LAN | 10/100 Fast ethernet interface |
| Telephone | Serial connection for external telephone modem (internal board needed). |
| ISDN | Built-in terminal adapter for one basic access IDSN line (2x64 Kbps). (internal board needed) |
| WAN | X.25, Frame Relay, and other WAN protocols supported (internal board needed) |
Note: All VisorNET units come with an on-board 10/100 ethernet interface. The equipment also supports the use of one additional communications internal baord for PSTN, ISDN or WAN communications.
High speed transmission and
telephone line backup: Using a combination of VisorNET's communication
interfaces it is possible to set up the equipment in a way that it uses high
speed communication lines, such as ADSL or cable, as the main communication
media and keeps the traditional telephone line as a backup. This means that the
VisorNET will usually transmit over the high speed line, benefiting from the
high video performance that can be achieved through such lines, but it will
always keep the telephone line as a backup so that in case that the internet is
down (all internet users have suffered downtime periods!) the unit will still be
accessible!

Streaming video that works: To
transmit video effectively through the internet it is not enough to be able to
work through TCP/IP (the internet protocol). As internet users, we all know that
the internet performance varies with time and that sometimes we might be getting
half a megabit per second in our ADSL line and the next minute it goes even
slower than a regular telephone line! Telsec's VisorNET uses state of the art
streaming video technologies and protocols that allow for a "dynamic
bandwidth behavior"; this means that the VisorNET will try to use the
bandwidth it has been programmed to use (never exceeding its quota and thus
reserving space for other data transactions) but it will adapt to the
ever-changing conditions of the internet transmitting at every point in time the
amount of video (bandwidth) that the internet will support. This dynamic
bandwidth functionality.
| Streaming Protocols & Bandwidth Control | |
| Video Streaming | RTP, RTSP, RTCP |
| Audio Streaming | H323 |
| Dynamic Bandwidth Control | YES |
| Bandwidth Quota Control | YES |
| Communication Protocols | TCP, UDP, HTTP, FTP |
Plug'n'play video security: The
security industry has been working for years with a very well defined business
model as far as alarm panels installation and services. Traditional CCTV project
also had its own procedures and technologies. But now, with the new wave of
remote video surveillance equipment and technologies, everything is heading
toward the internet world and communication are playing an increasingly
important role on the design and implementation of security solutions. Although
this is a fact, and there's nothing much we can do about it, Telsec has set
itself the goal to make our products as easy to use as possible and by the end
of 2004, Telsec will be releasing the market's first truly "plug'n'play
video server" for security application.
The new generation of VisorNET plug'n'play video servers will ease the installation and configuration of a high percentage of the installation over high speed telecommunication lines. Moreover, using the new generation of VisorNET equipment, no public IP address will be needed. Virtually all you have to do is connect the unit to the network and it will configure itself and establish a connection with the monitoring station through a secure VPN. Advanced communication
configurations: As part of the Teldat Group, Telsec has got access to the
latest telecommunication technologies and protocols thus, the VisorNET product
is one of the industry's best solution for security system integration projects
in which advanced and specific network and telecommunication configurations
might be needed.
The VisorNET product has got the capability to establish secure virtual private networks (VPN) using the well known international standard for secure VPNs, IPSEC.
