TelsecNVR

" Network Video & Audio recording server"

TelsecNVR is a compact network video and audio transmission and recording unit designed for small and medium security installations of up to four cameras. Some of its main functionalities are:

  Real time live video transmission

Up to 500GB of storage space for continuous, day, night or event activated video and audio recordings.

Real time two way audio communication (*)

Video alarm transmission with sequences of up to 6 minutes per camera with pre and post alarm images. (*)

Audio recording capability (*)   Two serial ports for PTZ and video multiplexer control

(*) Functionality available only for some versions. Check chart below for more information.

The TelsecNVR equipment is an integration of a video transmission equipment and a network video recording server. This combination represents a step forward in video and audio security solutions as it integrates the functionalities of both product types in one single and compact unit.

Network video and audio recording configurations

The TelsecNVR offers several competitive advantages over traditional DVR products:

>> Enhanced video transmission performance: Unlike many DVR products, the TelsecNVR can be programmed to use state of the art MPEG4 video compression for all its video transmission operations, offering as much as 8 frames per second over regular telephone lines or up to 25 frames per second over ADSL.

>> Professional video alarm processing: Using Telsec's video alarm technology and know-how on alarm monitoring services, the TelsecNVR is capable of capturing and transmitting up to 6 minutes of  video alarm information to the VisorCENTRAL management software or one of Telsec's compatible alarm automation software packages (IBS, SIS, Microkey and MAS).

>> Lower downtime and easier maintenance: Hard drive based recording represents as step forward with respect to old fashioned tape recorders, but hard drives still need some level of maintenance (defragmentation, replacement....) and can cause downtime periods. The TelsecNVR video and alarm transmission funtionalities are INDEPENDENT from the hard drives, so even if the hard drives are removed or damaged the unit will still provide video security to the location were is installed. Moreover, it will also inform the monitoring station that there is a problem with one of the hard drives.
>> Not a PC based system: The core piece of the TelsecNVR is the VisorNET video transmission unit. The VisorNET equipment is not a PC based system and it uses an embedded operating system (no linux or windows), which makes the system very robust and secure against most of the viruses on the internet which mainly affect commercial level operating systems like linux or Windows. The recording part of the TelsecNVR does use Linux to manage its hard drives, but it is not directly accessible from the internet and any access to recordings must go through the VisorNET piece.
>> Compatible with network based / centralized architectures: Although the TelsecNVR includes the network video recorder in the same housing than the transmission unit, it is fully prepared to start sending recordings to a central recording server on the same LAN or even at a different location. Thus, the TelsecNVR offers all functionalities of a DVR at the same time that it is fully prepared for the new generation of network based solutions, allowing your organization to get started with a local recording solution but being ready to move on to a network architecture without having to replace your equipment.

TelsecNVR supports a variety of hardware configuration options that makes it a very flexible and cost effective solution for a wide range of applications. There are four different configuration options that you can customize when selecting your TelsecNVR equipment:

Video Compression options:

- BASIC version: MJPEG video compression for both video transmission and recording. Independent streams can be used for transmission, recording and video alarms, allowing you to program different performance for each type of application. The BASIC versions do not support any audio options.

- ADVANCED version: Uses MPEG4 video compression for video transmission operations which involve only one camera at a time. If more than one camera is viewed simultaneously from the monitoring software, only the first one will be transmitted in MPEG4 format; the rest will be transmit in MJPEG. As in the BASIC version, recordings are also made in MJPEG format. The Video monitoring version is specially recommended for event driven CCTV and video alarm verification services over regular telephone lines and basic ADSL lines. The ADVANCED versions allow for one channel of two way audio.

- PRO version: Uses MPEG4 video compression for both video transmission and recording. Every camera supports two independent streams that can be setup with different parameters. This allows the monitoring station or internet user to view video at one bit rate or frame rate and have the recordings working at a much higher quality or bandwidth. The PRO versions allow for four audio inputs/outputs, allowing the monitoring station to select which one to connect to.

Communication options:
All TelsecNVR units have a 10/100 ethernet connection. As an option, the units can be setup with telephone/PSTN or ISDN support. The PSTN or ISDN lines can be used both as the main communication line to access the unit or as a backup line in case there is a connection problem when accessing the unit through the internet.

Audio options:
When two way audio communication and/or recording is needed, the TelsecNVR units can be setup to use Telsec's voice over IP audio codecs to provide excellent audio performance. Depending on the equipment version there are different audio options.

- BASIC version: No audio support.

- ADVANCED version: One audio input/output for audio transmission and recording.

- PRO version: For audio input/output for audio transmission and recording (built in audio switch).

Hard drive space:
Currently, TelsecNVRs support 80GB and 160GB configurations. Should you require bigger storage capacity, contact your Telsec representative and ask about other possible configurations.
